Why don’t you add more features to make it fun?

Many popular language apps try to impress you with stats about your progress, rankings, flashcards, quizzes, badges, XP points, avatars, fanfares, owls…

That’s all fluff to entertain you at best or deceive you at worst.

Most of the features only distract you from the important task: speaking that language.

I don’t need to see a rising graph to convince myself that I’m improving.

I feel that when I wake up in the morning and the words from yesterday’s lesson pop into my mind, ready for my next conversation.

Many casual learners need external motivation because they lack internal motivation. They want language learning to be fun.
