In Italian, the base verb is easily located in any dictionary and it is equivalent to "to + any verb" in English. To properly conjugate any verb in Italian, a distinct ending must be added to the stem of the verb. In order to obtain the stem of a regular verb, the last three letters of the infinitive must be removed.
